Just a quick update:
StenoArcade.com is now an actual site that exists, and you can enter your name and email address there if you want to be added to our mailing list for when the crowdfunding campaign launches. More teasers and details and art assets coming soon!
Hi, I'm thinking of trying Plover, however, I will be using it for work via the Rev transcription editor. I will need to be able to use the tab, tab+shift, and the up and down arrow keys. Can I do that with Plover and one of your steno machines? Can you leave your regular keyboard connected as well?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help.
Yes, of course!
ReplyDeleteDefine tab as {#Tab}
Define shift-tab as {#Shift_L(Tab)}
Define down arrow as {#Down}
I like to use T*AB, SHA*B, and STPH-G, but use whatever strokes you like!
You can do it with a commercial steno machine, as long as its protocol is supported by Plover, or you can do it with an n-key rollover qwerty keyboard or with the Stenoboard. If you use a commercial steno machine or the Stenoboard connected via TX or PR protocol, you can use your regular qwerty keyboard normally. If you use an n-key rollover keyboard, you'll have to turn Plover off by clicking the green P until it turns red before you can use your regular keyboard, but you can keep them both connected.
